In February 2017, The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) made over 375,000 images of public domain artworks in its collections available for use and remix with Creative Commons Zero. This paper draws on the experiences of the National Galleries of Scotland (NGS), gathered in the form of research interviews in late 2016 and internal reflections on a major project to redevelop the NGS website.
